New Beginnings is the second album from Tchphnx but the first under the new spelling and branding of the name. Formally releasing music under the full guise of ‘Touchphonics’ this new project encompasses a fresher approach to his production as well as a new look which represents taking things to the next level. Tchphnx has had his releases featured on every major site such as iTunes, Beatport, and Juno. He has been covered it such magazines and sites such as XLR8R, Big Up, ATM, HipHopDX, Kevin Knottingham, and Data Transmission. He has had a steady flow of DJ gigs through out the San Francisco Bay Area at every major club in the city. He has shared the stage with a diverse string of acts such as Andy C, UZ, Optiv, Marcus Visionary, Three6Mafia, Goldie, Machinedrum, S.P.Y, KRSOne and many more.
The album itself mainly keeps its form within the Drum & Bass genre however you will hear various Trap, Hip Hop, and other Bass Music forms making appearances throughout. The listener will also find much of the d&b is a little slower than a lot of conventional songs in the genre. This is the response to Tchphnx wanting to make tracks that bridge standard Drum & Bass with much of the newer bass music sounds that have finally been creeping up in tempo.
New Beginnings will be available locally on CD in the SF Bay Area and digitally worldwide on April 16th 2013. Tchphnx has gotten online DJ support from stations like jungletrain, bassdrive, and bassjunkees and continues to build up his DJ calendar in support of his new material. Keep it locked for the one they call Tchphnx!
